Romance Author Meet & Greet with Antonia Aquilante, Carol Van Den Hende and Miriam Allenson In-Person

Romance Author Meet and Greet with Antonia Aquilante, Carol Van Den Hende and Miriam Allenson from the New Jersey Romance Writers at the Wayne Public Library on August 5th from 11:00am - 2:00pm in the library meeting room.

Antonia Aquilante is an author and a copy editor/proofreader. She has been imagining characters and plots for as long as she can remember and, at the age of twelve, decided she would be a writer when she grew up. Her stories have changed over the years, but one thing has remained consistent—they all end in happily ever after. Antonia's latest release is The Envoy's Honor is the 8th book in the Chronicles of Tournai series.

Carol Van Den Hende is an award-winning author who pens stories of resilience and hope. Her novel Goodbye, Orchid has won many awards including the 2020 American Fiction Award for urban fiction and the Pinnacle Achievement Award for multicultural fiction. Her book has also been featured in Glamour, Buzzfeed, Parade, Travel+Leisure, Chicago Tribune, LA Times among others. Carol is a speaker, strategist, board member and Climate Reality Leader. She credits her good fortune on her humorous husband and teenaged twins, who prove that love really does conquer all. Carol's latest release Always Orchid is the 3rd book in the Goodbye, Orchid series.

Miriam Allenson writes about women who are the heroes of their own stories. Whether in her romances or her mysteries, her women stand up to challenge and win. Her Tootsie Goldberg Mysteries are about a later-in-life feisty Jewish female sleuth who pursues justice for those who don’t know how to get it for themselves. Nothing holds Tootsie back when she’s on the case…except her hot, stoic cop whom she calls Black Windbreaker...because he dresses all in black. The books in the Tootsie Goldberg Mysteries series are: When She Gets Hot, When She Gets Smart, and soon-to-be-published, When She Gets Busy. B.T. or Before Tootsie, Miriam wrote a few romance novels. They include: For the Love of the Dame, A Duke For Dessert, and When the Duke Finds His Heart.

Janette is the Assistant Director. She has a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Library Science. Among her many responsibilities, her favorite is selecting and ordering books for the adult fiction, nonfiction and large print collections.

An avid reader, Janette runs the Romantic Fiction (first Wednesday of the month) and the Page Turners (second Wednesday of the month) book groups. She is also a supporter of the romance genre and will gladly help "match you" with the perfect romance novel.

In 2021, Janette launched a Virtual Author Chat series where she chats with local authors about their writing and their path to publication. All of the chats have been recorded and are available to watch on the library's YouTube channel. In 2025, Janette established a writers' circle at the library. Pen to Paper at Wayne PL meets on the third Saturday of each month. In concert with the writers' circle, Janette also organizes monthly writing workshops which are led by local published authors.
