Jennifer Vido writes sweet romances set in the Lowcountry, earning acclaim as the award-winning author of the Gull Island series. Her debut book in the series won Best First Book from the New Jersey Romance Writers Golden Leaf Contest. Baltimore Magazine also named her a finalist for Best Local Author. When not writing fiction, she interviews authors for her weekly Jen’s Jewels column, leads water exercise classes, and directs a legal nonprofit. Currently residing in Maryland, she and her husband, Durbin, are proud parents to two grown sons, two rescue dogs, and a finicky calico cat.

Janette is the Assistant Director. She is responsible for ordering books for the adult fiction, nonfiction and large print collections. Janette has a background in archival processing and preservation and is currently hard at work processing the Lockett Local History Collection.
An avid reader, Janette runs the Romantic Fiction (first Wednesday of the month) and the Page Turner's (second Wednesday of the month) book groups. She is also a supporter of the romance genre and will gladly help "match you" with the perfect romance novel.
In 2021, Janette launched the Virtual Author Chat series where she chats with local authors about their writing and their path to publication. All of the chats have been recorded and are available to watch on the library's YouTube channel.
