Virtual Author Chat - A. Maria Harcas Online
Join us for a virtual author chat with NJ Romance Author, A. Maria Harcas
A. Maria Harcas is a retired educator turned content marketing writer and editor with a passion for storytelling. Her author journey took a new direction with her novel, Miranda—Strength, Love, and Second Chances: A Feminist’s Journey to Rediscovery which began as a short story and evolved into a full-length book exploring the challenges and triumphs of starting over later in life. Much like her protagonist, Ms. Harcas knows mid-life reinvention firsthand—after many years of divorce, she found love again and launched her writing business in 2016.
Miranda by A. Maria Harcas
A second-chance romance featuring the title character, a 60-year-old author of women’s history rebuilding her life after divorce. As she navigates heartbreak, family struggles, and past trauma, she unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Derek, a 36-year-old fitness trainer. But can Miranda allow herself to love again?
This story is meant to resonate with women over 40 who are starting over—whether in love, career, or personal growth—embracing strength and self-discovery.

Event Organizer
Janette is the Assistant Director. She has a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Library Science. Among her many responsibilities, her favorite is selecting and ordering books for the adult fiction, nonfiction and large print collections.
An avid reader, Janette runs the Romantic Fiction (first Wednesday of the month) and the Page Turners (second Wednesday of the month) book groups. She is also a supporter of the romance genre and will gladly help "match you" with the perfect romance novel.
In 2021, Janette launched a Virtual Author Chat series where she chats with local authors about their writing and their path to publication. All of the chats have been recorded and are available to watch on the library's YouTube channel. In 2025, Janette established a writers' circle at the library. Pen to Paper at Wayne PL meets on the third Saturday of each month. In concert with the writers' circle, Janette also organizes monthly writing workshops which are led by local published authors.
