Writing Workshop - So you want to write a book... with Judy Kentrus In-Person
Join us for a writing workshop with local author, Judy Kentrus.
So you want to write a book...
You’ve thought about writing a book, but where do you start? Many writers outline their stories, while others are pansters who write as the story develops.
In this one-hour workshop we are going to discuss the “parts” of a basic book. Genre, Character Development –Hero/ine, Setting, Conflict and more. We’ll explore a fun exercise together where you will walk away with the beginning of your own book!
Judy Kentrus is an award-winning author with 48 published novels in various romance subgenres: contemporary, romantic suspense, sweet romance, romantic comedies, and historical romantic suspense. Travels across the U.S. have inspired her storylines, including a land-sea tour of enchanting Alaska and a series featuring U.S. Park Rangers that blends adventure and romance.
When she's not writing, she enjoys baking and has earned the title of “Cookie Queen” among family and friends. She shares a new recipe on her website every month, combining her love for cooking with her storytelling. Her delightful novels entertain and tug at your heartstrings, offering a perfect escape into a world of romance.

Event Organizer
Janette is the Assistant Director. She has a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Library Science. Among her many responsibilities, her favorite is selecting and ordering books for the adult fiction, nonfiction and large print collections.
An avid reader, Janette runs the Romantic Fiction (first Wednesday of the month) and the Page Turners (second Wednesday of the month) book groups. She is also a supporter of the romance genre and will gladly help "match you" with the perfect romance novel.
In 2021, Janette launched a Virtual Author Chat series where she chats with local authors about their writing and their path to publication. All of the chats have been recorded and are available to watch on the library's YouTube channel. In 2025, Janette established a writers' circle at the library. Pen to Paper at Wayne PL meets on the third Saturday of each month. In concert with the writers' circle, Janette also organizes monthly writing workshops which are led by local published authors.
