Jean Sime lives in Northwest, NJ with her husband, Eric, of 28 years. She is a graduate from Rutgers University with a degree in Business Management and Finance.  Jean worked for a large retail bank for 31 years until her career shifted due to the pandemic in March 2020. She currently is an Editor/Proofreader for several Publishers. Jean is a kidney recipient from a living donor in June 2019. She is a coauthor in the book “Because Of Organ Donation” where she shares her transplant journey. Jean is very active in the transplant community by volunteering, mentoring others on their journey and has a passion for helping others. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as the Jersey Shore, music and traveling. She is also very active in the Covid community. Jean belongs to several support groups and keeps Vivian’s memory alive by honoring her in the many memorials being created. She is so thankful for all the love and support from her Covid community and family.  Jean is honored to share her sister Vivian's story in this beautiful tribute and continues to keep her legacy alive as Vivian was not only her sister, but also her best friend.

Marla Sarrel is a lifelong New Jersey resident. The only time she lived out of NJ was while attending University of Maryland where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education. She then went on and completed her Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University. She is currently a second grade teacher in Morris County. She lives with her 2 grown sons and 13 year old dog. She was happily married for almost 30 years before losing her husband to Covid-19. She enjoys hiking and listening to audio books while on long walks. Her greatest gift is the love and support of an amazing family and friends she considers family.

Janette Pardo

Janette is the Assistant Director. She is responsible for ordering books for the adult fiction, nonfiction and large print collections. Janette has a background in archival processing and preservation and is currently hard at work processing the Lockett Local History Collection.  

An avid reader, Janette runs the Romantic Fiction (first Wednesday of the month) and the Page Turner's (second Wednesday of the month) book groups. She is also a supporter of the romance genre and will gladly help "match you" with the perfect romance novel.  

In 2021, Janette launched the Virtual Author Chat series where she chats with local authors about their writing and their path to publication. All of the chats have been recorded and are available to watch on the library's YouTube channel.
